How to do color by number

Sort your pencils first. Lay out the colors from the key in number order. Our pages use the same number for the same color every time, so you can label your pencils once and keep them for every page.

Start with the big areas. Color the sky, walls or floor first. The picture comes together quickly, and the small details are easier afterwards.

Go light, then dark. Do cream, yellow and peach first and brown and charcoal last, so dark pencil doesn't smudge into the pale areas.

Unnumbered spots are yours. Tiny areas without a number are too small to label. Pick any color you like, or peek at the finished example on page two.
